Ashdown Forest
Originally a deer hunting forest in Norman times, Ashdown Forest is the perfect setting for a wonderful hack, no matter what the weather! We think all would agree, the spectacular views over the Sussex countryside are truly breath taking. We cannot believe that we are fortunate enough to have permission to enjoy it and to share the experience with our customers. Ashdown Forest is known the world over as the ‘home’ of Winnie-the-Pooh and it certainly lives up to its reputation as 6500 acres of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There are many beautiful rides across the Forest and the colours constantly change with the seasons the year through. We ride across the fire breaks on the open heathland of gorse and heather, cross streams at the bottom of the valleys and take quiet tracks up through the pretty woodland areas.
Our Farm
For those who prefer a quieter ride we offer escorted rides through our very own Jack-O- Toms woodland and farm. This is especially lovely during April/May time when the stream banks burst with wildflowers such as primroses and a carpet of bluebells.
We do not offer lessons at this time but we do provide basic instructions from our experienced guides for the safety of our riders and Our Horses.
