Novice & Intermediate Riders
Whether you’re completely new to horse riding or returning after a break, East View Riding Centre offers the perfect setting to start—or restart—your riding journey.
Riding is a fantastic way to stay active, enjoy the great outdoors all year round, and connect with some truly lovely animals. It’s also incredibly rewarding, especially when you’re just starting out or building up your confidence.
We know that climbing into the saddle for the first time can feel like a big leap—but don’t worry, helping nervous or first-time riders is what we do best. Many of our regulars started out feeling just like you. We’ll walk with you, lead your horse if needed, and take things at your pace.
If you’re curious about riding but not ready for a formal lesson or arena setting, our gentle farm rides are ideal. These relaxed treks through our private woodland and farmland offer a safe and scenic introduction to riding—no roads, no pressure, just you, your horse, and nature.
Been a while since you last rode? Our farm rides are also a brilliant way to ease back into the saddle and refresh your skills in a calm, supportive environment.

- Novice – You’re comfortable at walk and trot and may have tried cantering a few times. You’re getting the feel for it and want to explore more.
- Intermediate – You can walk, trot, and canter confidently and may have started learning techniques like leg aids or small jumps. (Please note: we do not offer jumping at East View.)
We currently accommodate groups of up to 6 complete beginners at a time, ensuring everyone gets the attention and guidance they need.
